House Survey

Regardless of whether a project is public or private, a 'house survey' (condition survey) is conducted on neighboring buildings and external structures during various construction activities, such as building work, demolition, or civil engineering. The primary purpose is to objectively verify the presence or absence of any damage caused by the construction impact.

Why is research needed?

By documenting the current state before nearby construction begins, we can accurately determine whether any structural damage was pre-existing or caused by the project. This documentation serves as crucial evidence for insurance companies should any issues arise. Conversely, the absence of such surveys can lead to protracted legal disputes with neighbors, resulting in significant time and financial costs. Therefore, we consider a house survey to be an essential 'insurance policy' to prevent such avoidable complications.

Investigation

  • Structural and surface damage, such as cracks and gaps in interior and exterior walls
  • Damage to the foundation, including cracks, breakages, and other structural defects
  • Damage to concrete slabs and flooring, including cracks, fissures, and creaking
  • Damage to external structures, including cracks, breakages, and other physical defects
  • Operational status of doors and windows (opening and closing) and the presence of any gaps or misalignments
  • Measurement of horizontal and vertical inclination levels
  • Leveling survey (Elevation measurement)
