What is i-Construction?

i・Construction is an initiative launched by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in 2016 with the aim of improving productivity at construction sites.

We aim to improve the productivity of the entire construction production system by introducing ICT into all business processes, from surveying to design, construction, inspection, and maintenance.

By leveraging our long-standing expertise in 3D surveying and extensive experience in 3D design data creation, we provide total support across all stages—from surveying and design to construction, inspection, and final delivery.

1. Surveying

Use of small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and 3D laser scanners

Flight operations in certain areas, such as Densely Inhabited Districts (DID) or near airports, require official flight permits. Our company handles all necessary application processes to ensure safe flight and precise measurement operations.
Additionally, we will use 3D laser scanners to identify areas where flight is prohibited.

2. Design and construction planning

Design and construction planning using 3D survey data

We develop 3D design data based on project specifications and pre-construction survey results to support Machine Control and Machine Guidance for ICT construction equipment.

3. Design

Creating 3D design data

Based on the proposed construction plan, we create 3D design data (MC/MG compatible data) for ICT construction machinery. We utilize our extensive experience to be able to handle a variety of site conditions.

4. Delivery

Preparation of as-built management reports and data for electronic delivery

Preparation of as-built management reports (heatmaps) in compliance with official standards, along with data for electronic delivery.
