Responsible for the growing demand for 3D modeling

I joined this company because I saw an opportunity to integrate my academic background in civil engineering with my professional experience in architectural design. After building a solid foundation in design work, I now specialize in 3D modeling within the i-Construction Promotion Office, which was established three years ago. Transforming 3D designs into 3D models does more than just improve construction efficiency and quality when integrated with heavy machinery; it also serves as a powerful visual tool for public briefings, making complex projects easy for local residents to understand. As a result, we are seeing a significant rise in demand, extending well beyond public works into various other sectors.

Visualizing the information required by contractors

Our company has been involved in i-construction in Niigata Prefecture since early on, and many of our construction projects have been created from the 3D data we create. I'm currently involved in modeling the construction steps for a bridge. It's unusual to build a curved bridge using the extrusion construction method, and the superstructure is designed to be made of metal. When considering construction procedures and costs, we work based on the information the builder requires, such as what needs to be clearly visible.

Acquiring new technologies and taking on new challenges

The best part of this job is that what we "built on a computer screen" becomes an actual structure, which we can see with our own eyes and feel is useful to people's lives and industry. 3D models will likely evolve into 4D, which adds a time axis, and 5D, which adds cost information. We aim to continue acquiring new technologies through in-house study sessions and industry seminars, and to continue creating designs that earn the trust of our customers, who say, "You can trust us when you leave it to Toprise."

It's better to have knowledge and experience in civil engineering or architecture, but 3D modeling is still a technology in its infancy. If you have the desire and perseverance to learn, you can use it to your advantage.
