Majoring in history at university. Taking a new step with no prior experience

"In university, I specialized in historical heritage and earned my curator and archaeological research certifications. However, the museum world is incredibly competitive. During my job hunt, I decided to broaden my perspective and look for ways to leverage my past interests. That’s when I remembered a specific fieldwork project where I mapped an ancient shrine using CAD. I found the process of drafting surprisingly enjoyable. Using 'CAD' as a keyword, I searched for companies in Niigata and discovered this firm. Initially, I expected to work in a back-office role like General Affairs, given my limited experience. However, during the interview, the company suggested a position in the ICT Division. They assured me that technical skills could be learned on the job and mentioned that other liberal arts graduates were already thriving here. That support was the deciding factor for me. Now, I’m excited to build a technical career from a unique background."
Processing and analyzing point cloud data to create a 3D model

In the ICT Division, our primary role is the 'visualization' of point cloud data captured through 3D measurements. The workflow—from 3D modeling and creating checklists to noise filtering, data merging, and final evaluation—is divided among the team, with each of us taking full responsibility for our assigned tasks. While we use specialized software, the final results always depend on human oversight. Precision is born from effective communication with clients and field staff to truly understand their needs. This role requires more than just technical knowledge; it demands deep concentration and the ability to adapt. The most rewarding moment is visiting a completed site. Seeing the massive scale and architectural beauty of a structure in person—something I had previously only seen on a monitor—always fills me with a sense of wonder and pride.
I want to contribute by mastering evolving technology

Since joining the company, I’ve witnessed the rapid evolution of 3D laser scanners and measurement techniques. The software we use to transform point cloud data into 3D models is also diversifying and advancing every day. I recently visited an exhibition at Makuhari Messe, and seeing the latest tools firsthand was both surprising and incredibly exciting. Being able to work with such cutting-edge technology is a huge motivation for me. With the construction industry’s increasing focus on BIM/CIM, the demand for our expertise is expanding, which gives me a great sense of purpose. Through our internal study sessions and the guidance of my senior colleagues, I am committed to deepening my technical knowledge. My ultimate goal is to continuously improve the quality of our data and contribute to our clients' success.
